This workshops is based on the film, Life of a King, a true story of Eugene Brown, a former inmate who turned his life around by teaching chess to at-risk youth in Washington, D.C. Starring Cuba Gooding Jr., the film showcases Brown’s journey from prison to mentorship, where he uses chess as a powerful tool to instill discipline, strategic thinking, and life skills in young people facing adversity. His motto, "Think Before You Move," becomes a guiding principle for both chess and life skills.
